Reoptimize solutions
Writesonic Pricing Plans, Writesonic Cost and Free Trial Terms
Writesonic pricing starts at $79 a month for Starter, $199 for Basic, and $399 for Growth when billed yearly, or $99, $249, and $499 a month on monthly billing. Enterprise is quoted after a demo. Every plan meters the same three things: AI prompts tracked (50 to 200), AI articles a month (15 to 50), and site audits. A Growth team with five users pays about $5,988 a year. Writesonic is now an AI search visibility platform with a writer attached, so if your real problem is older posts losing Google clicks, Reoptimize covers 1,000 pages for $89 a month billed yearly.

Writesonic plans and limits at a glance
The limits below come from Writesonic's own pricing page. The yearly prices are the ones printed on the plan cards; the monthly-billing prices follow from the yearly savings the page states ($240, $600, and $1,200 a year) and match what independent reviews report.
| Starter | Basic | Growth | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Billed yearly | $79 a month | $199 a month | $399 a month | Custom |
| Billed monthly | $99 | $249 | $499 | Custom |
| AI prompts tracked | 50 | 100 | 200 | Custom |
| AI answers tracked daily | 50 | 300 | 600 | Custom |
| AI engines | ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews | Same 3 | Same 3 | 8, adding Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Copilot, AI Mode |
| AI articles a month | 15 | 25 | 50 | Custom |
| Site audits | 10 a month, 100 pages each | 20 a month, 1,200 pages each | 50 a month, 2,500 pages each | Custom |
| Users and projects | 1 user, 1 project | 2 users, 1 project | 3 users, 2 projects | Custom |
| Action Center | No | No | Trial, 5 on-page and 5 off-page actions a month | Full |
| Support | Priority email | Slack or Teams, account manager |
Two details are easy to miss. The three self-serve plans watch the same three AI engines, so paying more buys more prompts and articles, not more coverage. And Writesonic's help docs still use the older plan names Professional and Advanced and list larger article allowances than the pricing page. When the two disagree, go by the pricing page and get the limit in writing.
How much does Writesonic cost per year?
Writesonic costs $948 a year on Starter, $2,388 on Basic, and $4,788 on Growth when you pay yearly, which is 20 percent less than paying month to month. Yearly billing is charged upfront for all 12 months.
| Plan | Yearly billing, per year | Monthly billing, per year | Cost per AI article | Cost per tracked prompt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $948 | $1,188 | About $5.30 | About $1.60 |
| Basic | $2,388 | $2,988 | About $8.00 | About $2.00 |
| Growth | $4,788 | $5,988 | About $8.00 | About $2.00 |
| Growth with 5 users | $5,988 | $7,188 | About $10.00 | About $2.50 |
The per-unit columns use yearly billing and divide the monthly price by the plan allowance, so they assume you use every article and every prompt. Most teams do not, which is why the plan to pick is the smallest one whose prompt count covers the questions your buyers really ask.
Does Writesonic have a free trial?
Yes. Writesonic offers a free trial with no credit card required, and its pricing FAQ says sign-up gives full access to try the product. Independent reviews describe the trial as 7 days. Writesonic does not publish the trial limits, so treat it as a test of the workflow rather than a measure of what a paid plan includes.
There is no permanent free plan on the current pricing page. Older articles that describe a free Writesonic tier with word credits are describing the earlier AI writer, before the product became an AI search visibility platform. Paid plans carry a 7-day, no-questions-asked refund, which is the real safety net if the trial was too short to judge.
Costs that do not show on the Writesonic plan cards
- Extra users. $50 per user a month on Basic and Growth, up to 5 users in total. Starter cannot add users at all, so a team of two starts at Basic.
- Extra articles. Growth can add 20 articles for $100 a month, $5 each. Starter and Basic have no article add-on, so a team that outgrows 25 articles has to move up a plan.
- More AI engines. Perplexity, Claude, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, and Google AI Mode are tracked only on Enterprise. If leadership wants a report across all of them, the self-serve plans will not produce it.
- Reporting integrations. Google Search Console and WordPress work on every plan. GA4 and Looker Studio are Enterprise only.
- Fair usage. The comparison table notes a fair usage policy applies, so heavy automated use can be limited even inside the listed numbers.
- Billing terms. Upgrades apply at once; downgrades and cancellations take effect at the next billing cycle. On a yearly plan that can mean months of a plan you no longer need.
Which Writesonic plan should you buy?
| If you are | Plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A solo marketer testing AI visibility for one brand | Starter | 50 prompts and 15 articles a month cover a first look, but only one seat |
| A two-person content team at a US SaaS company | Basic | Second seat, 100 prompts, audits up to 1,200 pages |
| A team of three to five tracking a category | Growth | 200 prompts, 50 articles, article add-on, sentiment, a trial of Action Center |
| A brand that must report on every AI engine, with SSO | Enterprise | All 8 engines, GA4 and Looker Studio, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, a dedicated strategist |
| A team whose traffic loss sits in hundreds of older posts | None of them on its own | Site audits flag issues; they do not rank a whole library by clicks lost or plan a rewrite for each page |
Writesonic pricing compared with other AI visibility and content tools
Entry prices below are from each vendor's pricing page. Prompt allowances are the fairest comparison for the visibility side, because every tracker meters on prompts.
| Tool | Entry price | What the entry plan includes |
|---|---|---|
| Writesonic | $79 a month billed yearly | 50 prompts on 3 engines, 15 AI articles, 10 small site audits |
| Otterly.AI | $29 a month ($25 billed yearly) | 15 prompts on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot |
| Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit | $99 a month | 25 prompts, 1 domain |
| Scrunch | $300 a month ($250 billed yearly) | 350 prompts, 3 seats, 7 engines |
| Profound | Quote for brands, median about $34,500 a year | Up to 9 engines, API, SOC 2 |
| AirOps | About $200 a month reported | Content workflows metered by tasks |
| Reoptimize | $29 a month billed yearly | 100 monitored pages and 20 rewrite plans a month; Pro covers 1,000 pages for $89 |
Writesonic sits in the middle: more prompts than the cheapest trackers, an article writer the pure trackers lack, and far below Profound. The trade-off is three engines below Enterprise. For the full list of tools that replace each part of it, see our Writesonic alternative comparison.
Is Writesonic worth it?
Writesonic is worth it for small and mid-size teams that want AI visibility tracking and an AI article writer in one subscription at a published price. Basic at $199 a month is a fair price for a team of two that needs to show leadership where the brand appears in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews and to produce a steady flow of new articles aimed at the gaps.
It is weaker value when the loss is in content you already have. Fifteen to fifty new articles a month does not fix 600 older posts that slipped, and an audit that lists issues on 1,200 pages still leaves someone to decide which pages matter and what to change on each. That decision is where most of the traffic comes back, and it is a different tool's job.
What to buy when the real job is fixing the pages
Reoptimize does one job: it keeps published content ranking. Connect a sitemap and it monitors every page, ranks the declining ones by traffic at stake, and turns each into a rewrite plan with the title and meta to test, the direct answer to add, missing subtopics, heading order, internal links, schema, and stale facts. Those are the same fixes that bring a page back into AI answers.
Take a US B2B software company with a 700-page blog and two content marketers. Organic demo requests are down and the brand has dropped out of several ChatGPT answers it used to appear in.
- Writesonic Basic costs $2,388 a year and gives 100 tracked prompts, 25 new AI articles a month, and site audits.
- Reoptimize Pro costs $1,068 a year, monitors all 700 pages with room to 1,000, and produces up to 150 rewrite plans a month for the pages behind the loss.
Reoptimize does not track prompts or write new articles, so it does not replace Writesonic for measurement or volume. Teams that need both often pair it with a small tracker and still spend less than Writesonic Growth. Frequently asked questions
How much does Writesonic cost?
Writesonic costs $79 a month for Starter, $199 for Basic, and $399 for Growth when billed yearly, or $99, $249, and $499 on monthly billing. That is $948, $2,388, or $4,788 a year paid upfront. Enterprise is priced after a demo and adds all 8 AI engines, SSO, and a dedicated strategist.
Is Writesonic free?
No. Writesonic has no permanent free plan on its current pricing page. It offers a free trial with no credit card required, which independent reviews describe as 7 days, and paid plans include a 7-day refund window. Reviews describing a free tier with word credits refer to the older AI writer.
Does Writesonic offer a free trial?
Yes. Writesonic offers a free trial without a credit card, and its pricing FAQ says sign-up gives full access to try the product. Trial limits are not published, so use it to test the workflow on your own site rather than to judge plan allowances.
What is the difference between Writesonic Basic and Growth?
Growth costs $399 a month billed yearly against $199 for Basic and doubles the allowances: 200 prompts instead of 100, 50 articles instead of 25, and 50 site audits of 2,500 pages instead of 20 of 1,200. Growth adds a third user, a second project, sentiment analysis, an article add-on, and a trial of Action Center.
How much does an extra Writesonic user cost?
An extra user costs $50 a month on Basic and Growth, up to 5 users in total. Starter is limited to one user with no option to add more. A Growth plan with 5 users costs $499 a month billed yearly, about $5,988 a year.
Can I get a refund from Writesonic?
Writesonic's pricing page offers a 7-day, no-questions-asked refund on paid plans. After that, cancellations and downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle, so a yearly plan keeps running until its term ends.
Is Writesonic worth the money?
Writesonic is worth the money for small teams that want AI visibility tracking and an AI writer at a published price. It is weaker value if your traffic loss sits in older posts, because new articles and site audits do not rank a whole library by clicks lost or plan a rewrite for each page.
What is a cheaper alternative to Writesonic?
For AI visibility tracking alone, Otterly.AI starts at $29 a month and Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit at $99. For fixing published pages that lost traffic and citations, Reoptimize starts at $29 a month billed yearly and covers 1,000 pages with 150 rewrite plans on Pro at $89.
