SE Ranking is a good all-in-one SEO platform for agencies and in-house teams that want rank tracking, site audits, keyword and competitor research, and client reporting without paying Semrush prices. Core costs $129 a month and Growth $279 a month ($103.20 and $223.20 billed yearly), both with a 14-day trial that needs no card. Its weak spots are a smaller backlink index than Ahrefs, a single seat on Core, and content tools built for new drafts rather than for fixing the pages you already published.

This review covers what each plan includes today, what SE Ranking does well and badly, how it compares with Semrush, Moz, and Ahrefs, and which buyers should pick it. Plan figures come from SE Ranking's pricing page, which shows prices in local currency, cross-checked against US-dollar breakdowns.

Is SE Ranking worth it?

SE Ranking is worth it if you need daily rank tracking for several sites or clients and want audits and reports in the same login. On Growth, 5,000 keywords tracked daily across 30 projects costs $223.20 a month billed yearly, which is hard to match in Semrush or Ahrefs at that price. It is less worth it if your main need is backlink research, or if your traffic problem is an archive of older posts that stopped ranking, because the platform reports the drop but leaves the page-by-page diagnosis to you.

SE Ranking plans and what each one includes

SE Ranking now sells two self-serve plans and Enterprise. The plans share one toolset and differ in limits.

Add-ons sit on top: Agency Pack (about $69 a month, yearly only) for white-label and client seats, AI Search (about $89 a month, or $71.20 yearly) for tracking your brand in AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, and extra API credits. The full cost math for three common setups is in our SE Ranking pricing guide.

What SE Ranking does well

  • Rank tracking value. Daily tracking with location and device settings is the core of the product, and the keyword allowance per dollar is the main reason agencies switch to it.
  • Website audit. 250,000 audit pages a month on Core is generous for most marketing sites, and the issue list is clear enough for a developer to act on.
  • Agency reporting. Scheduled reports, white-label branding, and client seats through Agency Pack cover what a small agency sends every month.
  • AI search tracking. Prompt tracking is included in both plans, with a larger add-on for teams that report AI visibility to clients.
  • Low-risk start. The 14-day trial needs no card, and yearly customers get free migration help from another tool.

Where SE Ranking falls short

  • Seats on Core. One manager seat means a second person pushes you to Growth, which more than doubles the bill.
  • Link data. Teams that live in backlink research usually find Ahrefs or Moz deeper.
  • History on Core. Six months of historical data makes year-over-year comparisons hard unless you export regularly.
  • Old content. The content marketing tools write and optimize new articles. When 200 published posts lose clicks, SE Ranking tells you which tracked keywords fell; it does not rank your whole library by clicks lost or write a plan for each page.
  • No longer the budget option. The old low-cost entry plan is gone. At $129 a month, Core is priced level with Ahrefs Lite and just under Semrush's entry plan.

Is SE Ranking better than Semrush?

SE Ranking is better than Semrush on price per tracked keyword and for small agencies that mostly need rank tracking, audits, and white-label reports. Semrush is better for keyword and competitor research depth, advertising data, and the breadth of its toolkits, and its entry SEO plan starts at $139.95 a month. Many agencies run SE Ranking for client tracking and keep one Semrush seat for research.

SE Ranking compared with Moz Pro and Ahrefs

ToolEntry priceStrongest atWeakest at
SE Ranking$129 per month, $103.20 billed yearlyRank tracking volume, audits, agency reportingLink index depth, seats on Core
Moz Pro$49 per month (Starter), $79 billed yearly (Standard)Domain Authority, link data, ease of useTracked keyword limits on lower plans
Ahrefs$129 per month (Lite)Backlink and keyword data at scaleCredit caps on Lite, cost of adding users
Semrush$139.95 per monthResearch breadth and competitor dataPrice once you add seats and toolkits

Moz's plan-by-plan costs are in Moz Pro pricing. If you are already leaning away from SE Ranking, the SE Ranking alternative comparison covers the other options by job.

Is SE Ranking good for agencies?

Yes. SE Ranking is one of the better value platforms for agencies with 5 to 30 clients, because Growth covers 30 projects, 3 manager seats, and 5,000 daily keywords, and Agency Pack adds a white-label platform, client seats, unlimited scheduled reports, and a lead generator widget for the agency site. Agencies that need more than an audit form to qualify prospects often pair it with client intake software that runs the discovery consultation before the first call. The limit agencies hit is usually seats, not keywords.

What SE Ranking misses for content you already published

Here is the job SE Ranking does not do. A B2B blog has 900 posts. Organic signups are down 25 percent, and most of the loss is spread across 150 older posts that each lost a few dozen clicks. The rank tracker shows the 2,000 keywords you chose, so many of those long-tail losses never appear as a red line. When they do, someone still has to open each URL, compare it with what ranks now, and decide whether the fix is the title, a missing subtopic, an answer buried too low, or weak internal links.

Reoptimize does that step. It reads your sitemap and Search Console, sorts every published page by clicks lost, compares each one with the pages ranking today, and writes a rewrite plan per page. Pro monitors 1,000 pages with 150 plans a month for $89 a month billed yearly ($1,068 a year), and it runs alongside SE Ranking without conflict. See how the ranking works on the content decay checker, or compare refresh options on the content refresh tool page.

Does SE Ranking have a free trial?

Yes. Core and Growth both start with a 14-day trial that needs no credit card. The trial is fully functional but uses starter usage limits, so test the rank tracker and audit on one real project rather than loading every client. Enterprise is sold through sales and has no self-serve trial.

Who should buy SE Ranking

Buy SE Ranking if you are an agency or a lean in-house team that tracks rankings for several sites, sends client reports every month, and wants a single platform below Semrush prices. Pick Growth if more than one person needs a login. Skip it, or pair it with a narrower tool, if your budget goes mainly into backlink research or into rescuing an archive of older content. For the second case, paste one slipping URL and its keyword into the analyzer at the top of this page and read the plan it returns.
