BrightEdge pricing is quote-only: there is no public price list, no self-serve plan, and no monthly option. Buyer transaction data from Vendr puts the median BrightEdge contract at about $50,000 a year across 46 purchases, with most deals between roughly $42,000 and $69,000. Large enterprise accounts spend far more; SpendHound reports an average near $119,000 a year for enterprise customers. Plan for an annual contract, usually one to three years.

If the reason you are pricing BrightEdge is that published content is losing traffic, read the last two sections before you book the demo. A lot of teams price an enterprise suite for a job a much smaller tool does.

How much does BrightEdge cost?

BrightEdge's product pricing page asks you to contact sales and does not show a single figure. The public evidence comes from procurement platforms that see real contracts, plus buyers who have shared quotes.

SourceWhat it reportsAnnual figure
Vendr (46 purchases)Median contractAbout $50,000
VendrTypical rangeAbout $42,500 to $68,900
SpendHoundAverage, enterprise customers (29 tracked)About $118,800
SpendHoundAverage, small business customers (3 tracked)About $21,000
Buyer guidesFull range quoted$25,000 to $150,000 and up

Two cautions on the table. The small business average comes from only three customers, so treat it as anecdote, not a floor. And a widely shared buyer thread in r/bigseo reported a one-year quote of about AUD 85,000 for four domains, six competitors per domain, and 2,000 tracked keywords. That thread is several years old, but it shows how quickly domains and keywords stack up.

In monthly terms the median contract is a little over $4,100 a month, paid up front for the year in most enterprise deals.

What drives BrightEdge SEO pricing

BrightEdge builds each quote from the size of the program you want to run. Vendr lists the number of domains as the biggest factor, followed by keyword volume and seats. These are the inputs to prepare before the first call:

  • Domains and markets. Every additional domain or country site adds tracking and reporting load. A brand with regional sites moves up fast.
  • Tracked keywords. Keyword volume is the second big lever. Buyer guides put each jump in keyword tier at $10,000 to $20,000 a year.
  • User seats. Count the people who need logins, not everyone who will read a report.
  • Modules. The core platform covers keyword research, rank tracking, site audits, and competitive analysis. Add-ons such as Autopilot (automated technical fixes), Copilot (AI recommendations), Data Cube X (keyword and content research data), AI Catalyst (visibility in AI search), and Instant (real-time trends) each raise the quote.
  • Contract length. Vendr says buyers who commit to 24 or 36 months often get 15 to 30 percent lower effective annual pricing than on a 12-month term.
  • Services. Onboarding, training, and consulting are priced separately in many deals.

Costs outside the BrightEdge license

The license is only part of the bill. Budget for these as well:

CostTypical amount (buyer data)Notes
Onboarding and implementation$5,000 to $25,000Often negotiable or waived on multi-year terms
Professional services$15,000 to $50,000 a yearStrategy support, custom reporting, training
Renewal escalator3 to 7 percent a yearVendr sees this in many renewal contracts
Analyst timeHalf to one full-time SEOSomeone has to turn the data into work for writers and developers

The last row is the one most budgets miss. BrightEdge reports rankings, share of voice, and page issues very well, but deciding what to change on each page is still a person's job. Teams that pipe the Data Cube API into a warehouse for executive dashboards often add data freshness monitoring so a broken feed does not quietly empty the report the CMO reads every Monday.

Does BrightEdge have a free trial?

No self-serve free trial is listed. BrightEdge sells through a demo and a sales conversation, and pricing is set in the quote. Some buyers negotiate a paid pilot or a short proof of concept on one domain before signing a multi-year term, which is worth asking for if your team has not used the platform before.

BrightEdge pricing compared with Conductor and published-price tools

BrightEdge's closest rival, Conductor, is priced almost the same way. Vendr puts the median Conductor pricing at about $49,000 a year, so the two enterprise suites usually land within a few thousand dollars of each other, and the decision comes down to fit and negotiation. Below them are tools that publish prices.

ToolPriceWhat it covers for existing content
BrightEdgeQuote; median about $50,000 a yearRank tracking, audits, recommendations, AI search visibility, enterprise reporting
ConductorQuote; median about $49,000 a yearRank tracking, 100,000+ monitored pages, 60+ writing drafts a year
MarketMuseQuote; last listed $99 to $499 a monthTopic models and 5 to 20 briefs a month
Search Atlas$79 to $319 a month billed yearlySEO suite with site audits and AI visibility
Clearscope$129 or $399 a month50 or 300 tracked pages, 20 drafts a month
Reoptimize$49, $149, or $399 a month billed yearly100, 1,000, or 5,000 monitored pages with 20, 150, or 600 rewrite plans a month

This is not a like-for-like comparison. None of the content tools replace BrightEdge's rank tracking across thousands of keywords, its technical recommendations, or reporting built for executives. The table answers a narrower question: if the line item is "keep our published content ranking", what does each option cost? A per-page view of the same field is in our content optimization platform pricing breakdown.

Is BrightEdge worth the price?

BrightEdge is worth the price for large SEO programs: many domains or markets, tens of thousands of tracked keywords, several teams sharing one source of truth, and leadership that wants share-of-voice and AI search reporting in one place. At that scale a $50,000 to $120,000 contract replaces several tools and a lot of manual reporting, and Autopilot can apply technical fixes that would otherwise wait in a developer queue.

It is harder to justify when the problem is narrower. Say a US B2B software company has one domain, 800 blog posts, and a traffic line that has been sliding for a year. The work that recovers those clicks is page by page: find the posts losing the most traffic, see what the pages now outranking them cover, rewrite the title, fill the missing subtopics, add internal links, fix stale facts. BrightEdge will show the drop. Turning 800 posts into a prioritized rewrite queue with a plan for each is still your team's job, and that is where the analyst hours in the table above go.

A published-price option for content that is losing traffic

Reoptimize does that one job and prices it in the open. Import a sitemap and connect Search Console, and the content decay checker ranks every page by clicks at stake. Each declining page gets a rewrite plan: title and meta, the subtopics ranking pages cover and yours skips, heading order, internal links to add and from where, schema, and facts that date the page.

  • Starter: $49 a month billed yearly, 100 monitored pages, 20 rewrite plans a month.
  • Pro: $149 a month billed yearly, 1,000 pages, 150 plans, 5 seats.
  • Agency: $399 a month billed yearly, 5,000 pages across several sites, 600 plans.

For the 800-post example, Pro at $1,788 a year covers the whole blog. That is under 4 percent of the median BrightEdge contract. Every plan is on the pricing page, or paste one of your declining URLs into the analyzer at the top of this article to see a real plan before you buy.

Many enterprise teams run both: BrightEdge for the program view and reporting, and a maintenance tool for the writers doing the fixes. If you are still comparing the whole category, the best content optimization tools page lays out every option by job and price.

BrightEdge pricing FAQ

How much does BrightEdge cost per year?

BrightEdge costs about $50,000 a year at the median, based on 46 purchases tracked by Vendr, with most contracts between roughly $42,000 and $69,000. Enterprise customers tracked by SpendHound average about $119,000 a year. The quote depends on domains, keywords, seats, modules, and contract length.

Can you pay for BrightEdge monthly?

Not in the usual sense. BrightEdge sells annual contracts of 12 to 36 months, and annual prepayment is common on enterprise deals. You can ask for quarterly or monthly invoicing, but the commitment is still for the full term.

How can I lower a BrightEdge quote?

Commit to a longer term, since Vendr reports 15 to 30 percent lower effective annual pricing on 24 or 36 months. Trim domains, keyword volume, and seats to what you will use, drop modules you can cover elsewhere, ask for onboarding to be waived, and get a cap on the renewal escalator in writing.

What is a cheaper alternative to BrightEdge?

For rank tracking and audits, Semrush and Search Atlas publish self-serve prices from about $79 to $500 a month. For keeping published content ranking, Reoptimize starts at $49 a month billed yearly and monitors 1,000 pages with 150 rewrite plans on Pro at $149. Neither replaces BrightEdge's enterprise reporting.
