Sample plan: it shows the shape and wording of a Reoptimize rewrite plan, not an audit of this page. Figures and findings are illustrative.
Search Atlas has three self-serve plans and an Agency/Enterprise tier. Billed monthly, Starter costs $99, Growth $199, and Pro $399 a month. Billed yearly, the same plans work out to $79, $159, and $319 a month ($950, $1,910, and $3,828 a year). Agency and Enterprise start at $999 a month. The tiers differ in OTTO SEO projects, user seats, monthly Universal Credits, and how much AI visibility tracking you get.
The figures below come from the Search Atlas pricing page and homepage, checked in September 2026. Several review sites still list older allowances, such as AI points instead of Universal Credits or two seats on Starter. If a page you are reading quotes those, compare it with the vendor page before you budget.
Search Atlas pricing plans compared
Every plan includes OTTO SEO, Content Genius, the Atlas Agent and Website Studio, and CMS publishing. Capacity is what changes.
| Starter | Growth | Pro | Agency/Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Billed monthly | $99 per month | $199 per month | $399 per month | From $999 per month |
| Billed yearly | $79 per month ($950 a year) | $159 per month ($1,910 a year) | $319 per month ($3,828 a year) | $11,988 a year |
| OTTO SEO projects | 1 | 2 | 4 | Up to 10 OTTO sites |
| User seats | 1 | 3 | 5 | 10+ |
| Universal Credits per month | 50,000 | 120,000 | 400,000 | 1,000,000+ |
| AI visibility tracking | Not included | ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode | All supported models | All supported models |
| Reporting | Standard | Standard | White-label dashboards | White-label, client portals, unlimited keywords |
Growth also adds the Meta and Google Ad Studio, and Pro adds Hyperdrive and enhanced authority building. Priority support sits on Agency/Enterprise.
What the Search Atlas limits mean in practice
OTTO SEO projects are the websites the automation layer manages. Each project connects through the OTTO Pixel, a JavaScript snippet that lets OTTO read the site and apply fixes you approve: titles, meta descriptions, schema, internal links, and on-page content changes. WordPress sites can use a plugin that writes the changes server-side instead. One domain equals one project, so Starter is a one-site plan by design.
Universal Credits are the monthly execution budget shared across the platform. Content generation, automated fixes, and other AI actions draw from the same pool, which is why the gap between Growth (120,000) and Pro (400,000) is much larger than the gap in price. A team that mostly does research will rarely feel the limit; a team generating content or running heavy automation across several sites will.
Seats are fixed per plan. A four-person team needs Pro even if one project would be enough, because Growth stops at three users.
AI visibility tracks whether answer engines mention your brand. It starts on Growth with three platforms and covers every supported model on Pro.
How much does Search Atlas cost per year?
At list prices, before any credit top-ups or extra sites:
| Plan | Yearly billing | Monthly billing, 12 months | Yearly billing saves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $950 | $1,188 | $238 |
| Growth | $1,910 | $2,388 | $478 |
| Pro | $3,828 | $4,788 | $960 |
| Agency/Enterprise | $11,988 | From $11,988 | Quoted by sales |
Search Atlas advertises yearly billing as a 20 percent saving, and the numbers above bear that out for the three self-serve plans. The yearly price is paid up front, so use the 7-day trial on real pages before you commit to twelve months.
Which Search Atlas plan do you need?
- Starter suits a freelancer or an in-house marketer with one website who wants OTTO fixes and content tools without AI visibility tracking.
- Growth is the plan Search Atlas recommends, and it fits a small team of up to three people with two sites, or one site plus AI visibility and the ads studio.
- Pro is where small agencies usually land: four projects, five seats, white-label dashboards, and more than three times the credits of Growth.
- Agency/Enterprise makes sense from about five client sites upward, or when you need client portals, unlimited keyword tracking, and priority support.
Where Search Atlas costs climb
The list price is rarely the whole bill for a growing team. Three things push it up:
- Sites. Projects jump from 4 on Pro to the Agency tier. An agency with six clients moves from $399 to at least $999 a month.
- Credits. Heavy content generation or automation across several sites can outrun the monthly pool. Independent reviews report that credit purchases and extra sites raise real monthly spend above the list price, so ask Search Atlas for current add-on rates before signing.
- Seats. Seat counts are tied to the tier, so hiring a fourth person can force an upgrade even if nothing else changed.
It is also worth being honest about which modules you will use. If Growth appeals mainly for the ads studio, a dedicated AI media buyer that builds and runs campaigns from your URL and budget may be the better purchase, and the SEO side can be sized separately.
Is Search Atlas worth the money?
Search Atlas is worth the money for teams that use most of the suite: keyword and backlink research, OTTO technical fixes, content tools, local SEO, and AI visibility tracking under one login. At $159 to $319 a month billed yearly, replacing three or four separate tools with it can save money. It is poor value if you only use one module, because you pay for the rest.
The most common single-module case is content upkeep: a team whose traffic is sliding on older posts and who bought the suite to fix that. For that job, the unit that matters is how many published pages a tool watches and what it hands back for each one.
Search Atlas vs a content maintenance tool on a 1,000-page site
Take a US SaaS company with one domain, a 1,000-page blog, three people on the content team, and a goal of refreshing about 40 declining posts a month.
| Search Atlas Growth | Reoptimize Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Price, billed yearly | $159 per month ($1,910 a year) | $149 per month ($1,788 a year) |
| Coverage | The domain as one of two OTTO projects | Up to 1,000 monitored pages |
| What you get for a declining page | Automated fixes applied through the pixel, content suggestions in Content Genius | A rewrite plan: title and meta, missing subtopics, heading order, internal links, schema, stale facts |
| Where the change lives | Applied by script at page load, or server-side with the WordPress plugin | Written into your CMS by your team |
| Also included | Research suite, local SEO, ads studio, AI visibility | Decay ranking by traffic at stake |
The annual costs are within about $120 of each other, so the decision is about fit, not price. Keep Search Atlas if the research and automation modules are in weekly use. If the real goal is to stop old posts from sliding, a Search Atlas alternative built for existing content puts every page under watch and gives your writers a plan for each one. The content decay checker is the fastest way to see how many of your pages are already losing ground.
Is Search Atlas cheaper than Semrush?
Yes, at the entry level. Search Atlas Starter costs $99 a month billed monthly, while Semrush Pro costs $139.95. The comparison changes with team size, because Semrush charges for additional users and Search Atlas ties seats to the tier. For writing-focused tools, compare against Surfer SEO pricing and Frase pricing, which start lower but cover only the content side.
Does Search Atlas have a free trial?
Yes. Search Atlas lists a 7-day trial on its plans, plus a free 30-minute one-on-one onboarding session. Use the week to install the OTTO Pixel on a staging copy or a low-risk section of the site, review the fixes it proposes, and check how quickly your credit balance moves. That tells you more about the right tier than the feature table does.
Before you pick a plan, paste one of your declining URLs and its target keyword into the analyzer at the top of this page. The plan it returns shows what a page-level refresh looks like, which makes it easier to decide whether you need a suite, a specialist, or both. Full plan details for Reoptimize are on the pricing page.
